An Approach to Heart Rate Monitoring and Emergency Response in Vehicles with GPS Support

Abstract

This paper presents an innovative solution for heart rate monitoring and emergency response in electric vehicles (EVs), aimed at enhancing driver safety and emergency preparedness. The system integrates wearable devices and in-vehicle sensors to continuously monitor the driver's heart rate, with real-time data displayed on the vehicle's dashboard. In the event of abnormal heart rate patterns, the system automatically activates emergency protocols such as alerting emergency services and providing precise GPS-based location tracking. By leveraging predictive analytics and machine learning, the system can anticipate potential health risks, enabling early intervention and the activation of automated vehicle control to maintain road safety. Additionally, the system is designed to work with Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication technologies, allowing real-time coordination with surrounding vehicles and infrastructure to optimize emergency response efforts. This holistic approach not only ensures timely medical assistance during critical situations but also contributes to safer driving environments through proactive monitoring and intelligent system integration. By embedding health surveillance and emergency management within the EV ecosystem, the proposed solution addresses a critical gap in driver safety, particularly in scenarios where immediate response is essential. This system represents a forward-thinking step toward smarter, safer, and more responsive electric vehicle technology.
