Abstract

The main purpose of Present Automobiles is being developed with more electrical parts for efficient operation. Generally, a vehicle was built with a digital driver-vehicle interface to indicate various vehicle statuses like fuel level, engine temperature, etc. This paper presents the development and implementing of a digital driving system for a semi-autonomous vehicle to improve the driver-vehicle interface using the CAN protocol. It uses an Arduino-based data acquisition system that uses inputs to bring all control data from a digital format and visualize it through an LCD. This paper presents the development of distance measurement using Ultrasonic sensors, which determines the vehicle’s position from obstacles. An automatic vehicle human- voice-based safety control is proposed to decrease the occurrence of vehicle accidents due to improper communication between the vehicle and driver while driving. The design is implemented using an Arduino microcontroller. One of the most important safety control features is the automotive. In this safety control function, the necessary action is issued based on the vehicle-to-vehicle communication through CAN. This thesis presents a system to recognize and classify road signs to develop an inventory of them, which could assist highway engineers’ tasks of updating and maintaining them. It uses images taken by a camera from a moving vehicle. The system is based on three major stages: color segmentation, recognition, and classification.
